What You Can Expect During an Outpatient Consultation:

After contacting the office yourself or being referred by another physician (GP or specialist), you will receive an appointment as quickly as possible (by mail, email or telephone) based on the medical urgency. The waiting period varies depending on disease severity and availability of appointments.

During the first consultation, we discuss your current symptoms, relevant concomitant and previous illnesses and any treatment you have already received. Please bring a list detailing your personal medical history, including previous hospital stays and operations as well as your current medication.

Occasionally, further evaluations are necessary, which we will discuss together in detail (e.g. imaging, assessment by other specialists or further eveluation by your general practitioner).

If you already have images of your spine or head, please bring the access data, USB-Stick or CD with you to the first consultation. Otherwise we cannot thoroughly discuss previous findings together. A written report alone is not sufficient.

Depending on the findings of the phsyical examination and the need for further assessment, we will outline your personal treatment plan with further follow-up visits, specific pain therapeutic interventions or an operation.

Testimonials

How other patients have experienced their treatment:

“Thanks to your help, I can lead a pain-free life again. When I play outside with the children all day, it hurts a little, but after a bit of rest it's no longer a problem.”

Dr. Hickmann accompanied me intensively through the initial period. Now the check-up appointments have become a routine and I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Hickmann knows exactly what to look out for, she knows my head inside out. That provides me with security.”
